The virtuoso bandoneonist Stoyan Karaivanov will open the “Strive” Festival on June 13th!
On the first festive evening of “Strive,” our guests will be immersed in the energy and elegance of tango and beyond. Stoyan Karaivanov is an exceptional musician with a rich palette of skills and knowledge:
Impressive academic background: From doctoral studies at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music to a Master’s degree in “Composition and Conducting” at New Bulgarian University and specialized bandoneon training in Italy and with luminaries such as Juanjo Mosalini and Daniel Binelli!
International experience and recognition: Stoyan Karaivanov is the recipient of the prestigious “Musician of the Year 2022” award from BNR (Bulgarian National Radio) and numerous first prizes from international competitions in Germany, Austria, and Poland, including the “Bandoneon” Prize named after Heinrich Band, Krefeld, Germany, 2025, and the LX “International Accordion Competition” in Klingenthal!
Creative energy: He is the artistic director and founder of Orquesta Tipica “Libertango” and a member of the “5/4 Tango” quintet with Lyudmil Angelov. He is a soloist and leader of dozens of projects in collaboration with world-class artists.
