The long-standing creative partnership between Maestro Yordan Kamdzhalov and Maestrina Maya Vassileva is entering a new stage as they embark on an ambitious professional challenge. Maya Vassileva, conductor of the Choir of the Music Laboratory for the Human Self, has been the director of the First Private Primary School and Kindergarten “Strive” (previously known as “Dr. Maria Montessori”) in Gorna Banya for 15 years, and this year, the chairmanship duties of the school’s Board of Trustees are being taken over by Yordan Kamdzhalov.

“All the wonders we have created in the field of culture, we will now extrapolate to the field of education,” Kamdzhalov shared with BNR (Bulgarian National Radio). Maya Vassileva added that the education of children carries great responsibility, and the presence of experienced teachers with whom they have worked for years is a key factor for success.

“Culture is mandatory for us. As long as culture and education are separated, we will be in a vicious cycle. We regret that the school is private, but we hope that in time this can cover almost all of Bulgaria,” the Maestro added.

Yordan Kamdzhalov describes this new endeavor as a “natural continuation” of their previous work, with the ambition to support and realize the hopes and dreams of as many Bulgarian children as possible.
