Yordan Kamdzhalov conducts Chopin for the first time in Sofia. Here are his words about what is to come on March 15 in the “Bulgaria” Hall:
“I have no words for Chopin! It is ultra musical, ultra sensitive, ultra innovative in melody, ultra innovative in harmony, in rhythm. A man deeply rooted in the traditions of Poland, who plunges into vast, unsuspected, hitherto unexplored forests of human sensitivity. To be able to take the step from folklore to the cosmopolitan, to the cosmic and the absolute beauty, is a specific quality of the soul. He is precisely this naked soul that nearly two centuries ago revealed new corners of human sensitivity. For me it is an abyss of superluminosity, an abyss of supervirtuosity, a distressing and powerful string. I am on my knees before Chopin! This is deeply my music! Absolute beauty and absolute hell at the same time. I can’t wait for this Chopin! I invite everyone to this Chopin!”. Ludmil Angelov and the Pleven Philharmonic
