The annual Gala Concert of Bulgarian Talent under the baton of Yordan Kamdzhalov is a new tradition in the service of talent, established in 2024.
The soloists in the impressive concert are young Bulgarian performers, winners of numerous national and international awards, arriving from the country and Europe. Under the expert guidance of the Honorary Chairman of the Yordan Kamdzhalov Foundation, together with the symphonic GENESIS ORCHESTRA, they perform iconic classical virtuoso works in the glamorous atmosphere of emblematic stages in Bulgaria.
In 2022, the Yordan Kamdzhalov Foundation created the annual boutique STRIVE Festival at the Royal Palace of Vrana, and the Gala Concert of Bulgarian Talent is a natural consequence and extension of the same idea – creating conditions for national and international laureates in music to have the opportunity to be soloists of an orchestra on a prestigious stage, where they can fully share their capabilities and potential.
Edition II coming in September 2025.
Why do we do it?
First, we would like to clarify that we do not believe in the concept of talent. We believe that the notion is discriminatory, limited, misleading and ultimately dangerous. We are convinced of the limitless potential inherent in every Human. Our daily efforts are dedicated to this potential.
Second, as is known, for the 15th consecutive year, our Foundation, despite all national and international adversities, is making extraordinary efforts to be able to make, even a small contribution to the hyperpotential of talent and spirit. Everything we do is dedicated to the musical future of Bulgaria. 3 years ago, with the blessing of His Majesty Tsar Simeon II, in the Royal Palace of Vrana we created the annual STRIVE festival - a small, boutique, glamorous, intimate, unique music festival. The current Gala Concert is a natural continuation of the same idea, something we have been preparing for 15 years – the large-scale public glamorous macro version of the same – creating conditions for our national and international laureates in music to receive a prestigious stage, where they can fully present their magnificent results in the world of music. That is, we see in a social and creative sense, a clear example of the so-called, known in topology, operation “reversal”. We are grateful that the Sofia Municipality participates in such a supportive way in the birth of one of the most significant and essential annual cultural and educational practices that our Foundation creates in special times, when, despite everything that surrounds us, and perhaps precisely because of it, we are convinced that culture and education are the only meaningful future of every culture and civilization! I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to all the participants.
I am thankful to all the parents who continue to give birth to and raise talents. We know that this is terribly difficult, but with this concert we will prove not only that this makes sense and that it can be something good and meaningful, but that it can be a salvation for a people and a nation in distress.
I am thankful to all the teachers - in them we see a source of hope and dignity.
